It is recorded in the ancient books, that ambergris carried from the Arab kingdoms, traveled the Silk Road, wrapped as tribute for the emperors of the Song Dynasty.

Placed upon glowing charcoal, the material softened under heat. The room filled with unfamiliar bloom of florals, rising from something once born of the sea. As the warmth deepened, jasmine and rose appeared. What was inert became alive. Those who understood incense knew, ambergris does not announce itself. It reveals. Resins anchored the air long after flame. This was why emperors gifted it — to remain.
