Inspiration:
In an old neighborhood in Tainan, an elderly woman prepares barley water before the afternoon heat arrives. A pot simmers slowly on the stove while freshly cooked white rice rests nearby. When the lid is lifted, warm steam fills the kitchen with the soft scent of rice.

She pours the barley water into old glass cups and leaves them to cool for the family. There is nothing luxurious about this smell. Just warm grains, steam, and an old kitchen. Barley & Rice is inspired by that familiar comfort, simple scent that, years later, still feels like home.
