Inspiration:
June morning in Hanoi begin quietly. I walked along the lake, where lotus leaves spread wide across the water, green and matte, catching light without shine. Beneath the surface, the root grows strong. Its scent is powdery, nutty, starchy, & calm. The air carried a clean softness, more towards seed and root than flower.

The lotus rises from murky waters yet bears no trace of them. This teaches me a lesson: that the soul may remain pure, even when the world is not.
