Inspiration:
The door opened with a small bell. Inside the Kagoshima tea shop, everything looked as though it had been there for decades. Wooden drawers held different teas. An old scale sat beside the counter. In the back, a batch of hojicha was being roasted. The smell was impossible to ignore. Warm, dry and slightly smoky, with the scent of roasted hazelnut, cacao and hay spreading through the room. The owner poured a cup without asking. “Try this.” The tea was soft and comforting, with a roasted sweetness that stayed quietly after each sip. It was the kind of place easily missed while travelling. But somehow, those are often the places remembered the longest.
