Inspiration:
The first laser printer was invented inside a Xerox research lab in the late 1960s. At that time, the idea of using light to print felt almost impossible. Only static electricity, heat, powdered toner, and a beam moving silently across paper.
Warm paper slowly emerged from the printer tray, the black toner still hot, carrying a smell unlike anything else at the time. Dry. Mineral. Slightly metallic. The scent of heated toner and fresh paper. A faint smokiness from the fuser unit.
It smelled futuristic at that time.
