Inspiration:
After a tropical rain, the outskirts of Saigon smell different. The sun returns quickly, warming the wet leaves and fruit. Passionfruit vines hang heavily over fences, while guava, flowers and wild greenery grow together beneath them. The heat releases everything at once. Sweet fruit. Sour pulp. Crushed leaves. Watery stems. Damp soil. Nothing stays separate for long. A vine wraps itself around another branch. Fallen fruit disappears beneath the leaves. New flowers open where nobody planted them. In this humid corner of the tropics, everything grows together — and every living thing seems to leave a different scent in the air.
