Inspiration:
When we were kids, the football field was where every afternoon spent. After rain, the freshly cut grass was still wet and the soil underneath turned soft and muddy. We ran anyway, slipping across the field, falling into the grass, getting mud all over our hands and feet. Nobody cared about getting dirty. Until our parents started calling us home, already knowing we would get scolded for the muddy clothes and shoes. Still, someone would always shout, “One more game.” The smell of wet soil and freshly cut grass still brings it all back — muddy feet, dirty hands, and the days when going home was the last thing we wanted to do.
